Getting started

  1. Install Mint Reviews from the Shopify App Store and open it from your Shopify admin.
  2. Go to Settings & setup and click Add reviews block. Your theme editor opens on a product page with the Product reviews block added — drag it below the description and click Save.
  3. Click Add star rating to put stars under the product title the same way.
  4. Choose your moderation rule, then open a product on your store and write a test review.

Stars on collection pages and product cards

Mint Reviews keeps each product's standard Shopify rating fields (reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count) up to date. Many themes, including Shopify's free themes, can show these on product cards — look for a "Show product rating" setting in the theme editor. The Star rating block can also be added to sections that show a single product, such as a featured product section.

Moderation

  • New reviews are published or held according to your rule. Reviews that look like spam are always held.
  • In the Reviews page you can publish, unpublish, hide, delete and reply publicly. Replies appear under the review.
  • Please moderate for spam, abuse, private information and off-topic content — not to hide honest negative reviews. Suppressing genuine reviews misleads shoppers and can break consumer-protection rules.

Photo reviews and rich snippets (Pro)

  • Shoppers can add up to 3 photos per review. Photos are resized before upload and location data is removed.
  • To add review stars data for search engines, click Turn on app embed in Settings & setup and enable Review rich snippets. If your theme or another app already outputs review ratings in structured data, turn one of them off so search engines see one set.

Importing and exporting

Import & export → Export CSV downloads every review. Pro stores can import a CSV with the columns product_handle (or product_id), rating, body, author and optionally title, email, created_at, status and reply. Only import genuine reviews written by your customers.

Things to know

  • There is no "verified buyer" badge: we don't read your orders, so we can't verify purchases.
  • Mint Reviews doesn't send review request emails yet. It's the next feature we're building.
  • The Free plan shows up to 50 published reviews; new reviews beyond that wait in your queue.

Billing

Pro is billed through Shopify at $9.99/month after a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime from the app's Plans page or by uninstalling — you won't be charged again. If you cancel, your reviews stay; photos, rich snippets and custom styling switch off. Reviews that are already published stay published, but you can't publish more while you have 50 or more live.
