Privacy policy

Mint Reviews is a Shopify app made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). It lets a merchant collect and show product reviews. This policy explains what information the app handles — about merchants and about the shoppers who write reviews — how it's used, and how it's deleted.
The short version
- We store the reviews shoppers submit on a merchant's store: rating, title, text, name, optional email and optional photos.
- Reviews are shown publicly with the reviewer's first name and last initial only. Emails are never shown publicly.
- We don't read your customers, orders or any other customer data from Shopify.
- We never sell or share data, and we don't use it for advertising. No analytics, cookies or trackers are added to your store.
- When a merchant uninstalls, everything we hold about their store is deleted 48 hours later.
Permissions we ask Shopify for

The review form tells shoppers what will be shown publicly before they submit. The merchant is the controller of their store's reviews and decides which are published; we process them on the merchant's behalf.
Customer privacy requests
We respond to Shopify's customer privacy webhooks. When a store's customer asks to be erased, we delete every review submitted with that customer's email, including photos. When a customer asks for their data, the merchant can export their reviews (the CSV export includes the email) to answer the request. Shoppers can also email us or the store to have a review removed.
Where data is stored
The app runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database and photo storage) and connects to Shopify's APIs. Data is encrypted in transit. We don't use any other third-party services.
Retention and deletion
Reviews are kept while the app is installed, until the merchant deletes them. When a merchant uninstalls, their access token is deleted immediately and Shopify removes the app's review summary from their products. 48 hours later Shopify asks us to erase the store's data, and we permanently delete all its reviews, photos and settings. The standard rating fields on products belong to the merchant and stay in their store. Merchants can export their reviews at any time before uninstalling.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information about you. Merchants can contact us directly; shoppers can contact the store they reviewed or us. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify merchants in the app.
